About the Author

Karen N. Vaughn is from the Caribbean and  grew up in  New York and South Florida. This book, The Essence of a Woman, marks her debut as an author. 

A Healthcare professional with an extensive medical background, she has worked in several trauma hospitals including Broward Health and Alameda Hospital in Northern California. She currently works for a Florida, non-profit organization which is affiliated with the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce. 

Karen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing Management from Florida Metropolitan University and is  currently completing a master’s degree from Phoenix University in Mental Health. She also possesses a Diagnostic Medical Sonography degree and currently travels around the United States in her medical practice. 

Recently, transitioning into a marketing and public relations extraordinaire, in July of 2020 she formed  LLC Kay V Connect, a consulting marketing company. In that capacity, she spoke on the Success Fest 2021 platform and was a panelist on the Becoming the Best You in November 2021. 

Karen  strives to keep motivating and making a difference in  her community and eventually the world.  Her motto in life is, All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.
